I'm Gavin Etmanski, an actor in British Columbia, Canada. I built Iris on my own, and I answer every support email myself. If something is broken, confusing, or worrying, especially anything involving a child's tape, email me.
I reply as soon as I can. It helps if your first email includes your iPhone model, the app version (Profile → About), and what happened. If it's about a review link, paste the full link.
Send for Review uploads the clips you choose and gives you a private link. Anyone with the link can watch and leave notes for 24 hours. Leaving notes doesn't close the link.
If you send a new link for the same project, the old one stops working. If you resend exactly the same clips, you get the same link back.
After 24 hours, the page stops playing the video. An automatic cleanup then deletes the video and notes from our storage. If a cleanup fails, it tries again the next night.
On the Link Ready screen, tap Stop sharing. The video and notes are deleted and the link stops working. If it doesn't go through, try again, or email me the link and I'll remove it.
If you no longer have that screen, email me the full link. I need the link itself to find it. A name isn't enough.
Iris Pro is billed by Apple. To cancel, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Iris. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends, or it renews.
To restore Pro after reinstalling or on a new phone, open the Pro screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. I can't issue them myself.
Pro is US$9.99 a month or US$79.99 a year, or your local price in the App Store. New subscribers get two weeks free.
On your phone, inside the app. If you turn on iCloud Backup (Profile → Storage & Backup), they're also copied to your iCloud. They only leave your phone when you choose:
Sides you attach to a Remote Reader session are removed from our storage when the session ends.
Usage analytics can't be traced back to you, so there's nothing there for me to look up or delete.
Actors under 18 can use Iris with a parent or guardian's agreement and supervision. For actors under 13, a parent or guardian should set up and run the app.
Review links and Remote Reader links can show a child's video to anyone who has the link, with no login. Only share them with people you trust.
To have a specific link or session removed, email me the full link. I can't find anything from a child's name alone.
